# Syng

> Syng is an offline-first, cross-platform Chinese learning toolkit connecting reading, dictionary lookup, vocabulary practice, and useful text tools.

The core app is free and open source. No account is required. Cross-device syncing is planned as a paid capability; its price has not been announced.

Available on macOS, Windows, Linux, Android. iOS is coming soon and currently unavailable. All roadmap items are planned and currently unavailable. No release dates or delivery guarantees are offered.

View HSK labels for HSK 2015, HSK Proficiency Standard 2021, and HSK Exam Syllabus 2025 where level data is available.

Import .txt, .epub, .pdf, .docx, and .rtf files. Supported text encodings include UTF-8, UTF-16, GBK, GB18030, and Big5. Choose Light, Dark, or Sepia reading modes and adjust the text size. Webpage imports require a network connection.
